Obituary

Colonie, NY – Ray Jackson, 70, passed away on Thursday (Feb. 2, 2017) at his residence, with his loving family at his side.

Born on July 8, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA, he is the son of the late Claire Jackson. Ray worked as a Respiratory Therapist for 43 years in the Albany area and retired from Ellis Hospital in 2008. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant following service with the US Army in Germany and Vietnam from 1967 to 1970. He continued serving with the Army National Guard through the Albany Armory for several years.

Ray is the beloved husband of 41 years of Sherry (Kloss) Jackson and is survived by a son, David B. Jackson and fiancé Amanda Nardini of Rotterdam. He is brother-in-law to Terrence Kloss and Sandra Kloss; uncle to Damian (Sara) Kloss, Benjamin Kloss and Aaron (Kate) Kloss and is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful care of the Schenectady Hospice family, especially Sue Stewart RN, Chaplain Emily and social worker Peter, for their heartfelt and compassionate care. The family also wishes to thank Ray's family physician, Dr. Gary Kronick of Community Care Physicians, for his professional and passionate care over the past 30 years.

Services will be conducted at 10am Wednesday (Feb. 8, 2017) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Burial with military honors will follow at 11am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria Pike Cold Spring, KY 41076.
