Saratoga Springs - Raymond Paul Rivers, 81, passed away on June 30, 2018 at his home with loved ones by his side.

He was born in Glens Falls to the late Raymond and Lucille Rivers on May 7, 1937.   He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1955-1958 and then worked for the New York Racing Association until his retirement in 2009.

Raymond was a devoted husband and father who loved his family immensely.  His wife was his soulmate and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren always put a smile on his face. He touched the lives of so many people with his generosity, humor and willingness to help anyone in need.  He had a lifetime of experiences which he shared with his loved ones.  His stories from his childhood and beyond would keep you entertained for hours.  He will forever be in the hearts of all who loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia, their children; Daniel (Janet), Randy (Maureen), Raymond (Debra), James (Laura), Kit and Elizabeth, his grandsons, grand-daughters, and great grandchildren as well as his sister, Carole Duval and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday, July 6, 2018 in St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Avenue. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
