Ballston Spa, NY - Regina (Gatta) Barnes, 73, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2018 surrounded by her loving family

Regina graduated from Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady and received a business degree from Mildred Elly. She was employed by the United States Department of Immigration prior to her marriage to Kenneth Barnes in 1965. Together they raised 5 children. She retired from Saratoga County in 2002.

An avid reader, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and a good murder mystery. Her greatest love were her seven grandchildren, who were truly her heart and soul.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Kenneth; daughter Shelly (Bill) Heeney, daughter Sandra (Edward) Scalo, son Kenneth (Karen) Barnes, Jr., daughter Stephanie (Kenneth) Mackie, daughter Suzanne and seven beloved grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 2 to 5pm Sunday (Nov. 25, 2018) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday (Nov. 26) in St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa. Burial will follow in Ballston Village Cemetery.
