Mechanicville, NY – Richard D. Guilianelle, 76, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 after a brief illness.
Richard was born October 31, 1947, in Troy, NY and was the son or the late Mary Kiley Capeci and Ernest Guilianelle. He attended St. Paul's Parocial School in Mechanicville. Richard worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Mechanicville DPW, retiring after 33 years of service in 2004. Prior to his retirement from the city, Richard would often do odd jobs after his work day was done. He was a very hard worker. Before his time at the DPW, Richard worked for the Boston & Maine Railroad in Mechanicville. After retirement, Richard started a family owned business, Bros Roll-Off Service and ran it for seven years.
Richard loved gardening, taking long rides, spending time with his grandchildren and visiting his daughter's beagles.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother Paul Guilianelle in 2020.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Delores Peek Guilianelle, his loving daughter Kristen and her husband David, three sons, Patrick and his wife Valary, Robert, and Scott, four grandchildren, Brittany, Ethan, Lucas and Antonia, great grandson Jayden, his loving beagle Podrick and two step-brothers, Michael and Tim Capeci.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4-7pm on Tuesday, September 24 at William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY (518-584-5373).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, September 25 at All Saints on the Hudson South Church (St. Paul's), 121 N. Main Street, Mechanicville by the Rev. George Fleming.
Burial will be private.
