Galway, NY - Richard Carr, Jr. passed away on Tuesday (Mar. 17, 2009) at Saratoga Hospital. He was 54. Born on May 26, 1954 in Oneonta he is the son of Dora ( Barber) Carr and the late Richard Carr, Sr. He is the husband of Muriel (Lee) Carr, whom he married on July 9, 1988. Mr. Carr was a graduate of Galway High School class of 1972. He was an independent contractor for the United States Postal Service. Richard was also a school bus driver for the Broadalbin-Perth School District. Some of Richards favorite pastimes were woodworking, reading and coaching sports including baseball and basketball. Survivors in addition to his mother Dora and his wife Muriel include two daughters, Melissa (Justin) Morgan of Cleveland, NY and Melanie Carr of Galway; one son, Richard Carr III of Galway; three brothers, William (Grace) Carr, Thomas Carr and David (Karen) Carr all of Warner Robins, Georgia; one grandson, Maxwell Morgan of Cleveland, NY and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Galway United Methodist Church, Route 147, Galway on Saturday (Mar. 28, 2009) at 10:00am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
