Saratoga Springs - Richard C. Nowakowski passed in peace Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the age of 81. He was a man that was loved and will be missed and always cherished. Our "Uncle Dick" was an amazing husband, brother, uncle and friend.

Uncle Dick was born on April 28, 1935. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Martha Nowakowski and the love of his life Jean M. "Eenie Beanie" Nowakowski. Uncle Dick is survived by his sister Josephine Neelis, numerous nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews as well as great, great nieces and nephews.

Uncle Dick retired after 30 years with Bendix in Green Island. He had a vibrant and comical personality and lived life to its fullest. He was very active and enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, playing tennis, tailgating, bowling and dancing. Uncle Dick was a huge NY Giants and Mets fan. Most of all, he loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Uncle Dick touched many lives and will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his great niece Jacqueline D'Alessio, all the doctors, nurses, aides and sitters for providing the best care possible during Uncle Dick's stay at St. Peter's Hospital.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-7pm on Thursday, July 28 2016 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A funeral service will be celebrated at 7:00pm in the funeral home by the Rev. George J. Blasick, C.Ss.R., Pastor, St. Clement's Church.
