Mechanicville Richard Hayden Rose of Riverside, died Sunday evening (April 5, 2009) after battling cancer for the past two years. He was 62. Born October 6, 1946 in Stony Point, New York he is the son of the late Frederick Rose, originally of Mechanicville and Claire M. (Post) Rose of Jersey City. Richard worked for thirty years for Bobrick, Inc. in Clifton Park. He started as a packer on the floor and became Division Manager in charge of Bobricks entire eastern division. He was a past commander of the Lt. Fred H. Clark Post #91 American Legion and was a charter member of the Mechanicville F.O.E. as well as belonging to the Italian Fraternal Society. Richard also served on the board of directors of the TCT Federal Credit Union. He was an avid New York Giants and Yankees fan and enjoyed coin collecting, trout fishing, golfing and spending time in his garden. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bernice Anne (Stockwell) Rose, one daughter; Debbie Urkevich and her husband Larry of Melrose, two sons; Kevin Rose of Hemstreet Park, Timothy Rose and his wife Kimberly of Mechanicville, five brothers; Robert McMahon of Newport, NH, Eric McMahon of Stony Point, NY, James Rose of Deposit, NY, Benjamin Rose of Mechanicville, NY, Charles Rose of Buffalo, NY, three grandchildren; Richard Thompson, Jordan Nichols Rose and Siarra Lynn Rose. Relatives and friends may call from 3 to 7pm on Wednesday (April 8, 2009) at Dunn Funeral Homes, Inc. 319 Park Ave. A funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday ( April 9, 2009) at the funeral home. Burial will be in the family plot in Hudson View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hoosic Valley Rescue Squad, 1448 State Route 40, Schaghticoke, NY 12154.
