Mechanicville, NY - Richard P. Taglione, 65, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 7, 2011 after a three year battle with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, with his loving wife of 41 years, Donna (Caschera) Taglione, at his side. Richard was born on April 6, 1946 and grew up in Mechanicville. After graduating from Mechanicville schools, he attended the University of Notre Dame and then enlisted in the Naval Reserves. He served on the US Shangri-La during the Vietnam War. After the war, he resumed his career as a numismatist and ran WGY Coin and Stamp, Co. Inc, in Schenectady, NY. Richards greatest joy was his family, which he guided with his quiet strength, wisdom and unique sense of humor. In addition to his wife Donna, he leaves behind his adoring children, Nadia Taglione Carey (Anthony), of Cohoes, Matthew Taglione (Andrea), of Phoenix, AZ and Leah Taglione, of Raleigh, NC. He was the beloved Pop-Pop to Taylor and Maxwell Carey, and Gianna Taglione. Richard is also survived by his mother, Mary Taglione, his siblings Rosemary Hoag (Richard) and Paul Taglione Jr. He was predeceased by his son Dino Taglione and his father, Paul Taglione, Sr. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 4 - 7 p.m. at Chase-Smith Funeral Homes, 319 Park Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 10, 2011 at 9 a.m. at Assumption-St. Paul Church, Main St. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to remember Richard make a donation in his name to Capital District Cancer Resource Foundation, 1003 Loudon Road, P.O.
