Mechanicville, NY – Rita T. Morgan passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was 91.

Born March 14, 1926 in Mechanicville, Rita was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice Monty Callahan. A lifelong resident of Mechanicville, she worked as a clerk at the former W.T. Grants Co. in Mechanicville and at the New York State Department of Tax and Finance in Albany. Rita was a wonderful homemaker who loved to care for her family, she enjoyed many years at her camp on the Great Sacandaga, hosting family reunions and holiday gatherings with all the trimmings. She also loved taking trips with the Mechanicville Senior Center and sharing her crocheting with everyone.

In addition to her parents, Rita was predeceased by her husband Frank X. Morgan; their son Wayne F. Morgan; four sisters, Cecelia Swayze, Kathleen Visvardis, Bernadine Gaspie and Joan Begin; five brothers, Francis, Edmund, Raymond, George and William Callahan.

Rita is survived by her children; Diane Reilly and her husband Tim and Gail Reilly and her husband Dan; one daughter-in-law Karen Amodeo Morgan; eight grandchildren, Teri Tillaart, Renee McLaughlin, Melissa Smith, Christopher and Patrick Morgan, Kelly Pitcheralle and Emily and Morgan Reilly and five great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7pm Monday, April 24, 2017 at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, (St. Paul's), 121 North Main Street, Mechanicville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at12noon Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at All Saints on the Hudson South Church by the Rev. Thomas Morrette, pastor.

Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her name to The Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, New York 12866.
