Ballston Spa, NY - It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Badaszewski announce his passing on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at the age of 85.

Robert was predeceased by his cherished wife of 58 years, Barbara and is lovingly remembered by his sons, Douglas Badaszewski, and his wife Lina, Kenneth Badaszewski and his wife Jennifer; daughter Donna Rabito and her husband Joseph; and his grandchildren Jacob, Benjamin, Ekaterina and Davis.

Born September 30, 1935 in Buffalo, NY, Robert was the son of Florian ("Frank") and Martha Badaszewski.

He was a standout athlete and graduated in 1955 from Sloan High School in Buffalo, NY. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Coast Guard and faithfully served his country performing search and rescue on both Lake Erie and the Puget Sound. Following his service, he enjoyed a 30 year career with Western Electric/AT&T in Buffalo and subsequently in Suffern, NY. Robert remained active in the community and was a member of Saratoga Assembly 745 Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and the Color Corps, in addition to many other organizations. Robert loved his family selflessly and was a loyal friend to many. He enjoyed golf, being with his dogs and cherished his time with friends and family.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7pm Friday (May 21, 2021) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Monday (May 24) in St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa, NY, by the Rev. Francis R. Vivacqua, pastor. Burial with military honors will follow at 12:30pm in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.

Members of the Knights of Columbus will meet at 6pm Friday at the Burke Funeral Home for their service.
