Obituary

Greenfield Center, NY - It is with profound sadness that we share with you the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, son, father and more, Robert Bolton Best, who died suddenly on May 7, 2018. He was born on May 6, 1958 to Suzanne Bolton Best and the Honorable Judge Robert Papworth Best, in San Diego, California.

To his family and friends, he was known as Bob. For 30 years Bob had been self employed. He and his son Tyler have a successful business in the area.

Bob was an expert and avid skier, spending twenty years on the ski patrol at Gore Mountain. He grew up skiing at Royal Mountain and loved the slopes of Killington, Gore and Whiteface Mountain.

Bob had the most infectious, genuine and deep laugh that filled any room he was in; always with a happy smile on his face and a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He will be lovingly remembered for his kindness, generosity and willingness to always lend a helping hand.

Bob had a love-hate relationship with golf, sharing the best and worst of golf outings with his friends and family; enjoying his ten years of Thursday night golf league.

But most important of all to Bob were his family and friends. He was a devoted, loyal husband to his wife of thirty-one years, Lisa Arnold Best; and to his children, Tyler and Aly, a dedicated, caring, loving father. Bob and Lisa, along with many friends and family enjoyed birthday trips to Canada, Vermont, New York, Aspen, Tremblant, Quebec, and so much more. Over the years many memorable moments have been created and shared with family and friends, which will be treasured forever.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Arnold Best and his children, Tyler Arnold Best (Nicole) and Alyson Suzanne Best. Also surviving are his parents, Robert P. and Suzanne B. Best; sister Katie Breen, (Peter), niece Elisabeth B. Krause (Matthew), nephew Sean Breen; sister Meredith Best (Babette Loucks), nephews Delé and Aubrey Loucks-Best; sisters-in-law Amy Seroussi nephews Jacob and Adam and niece Chloe, Megan H. Arnold, and nephew Joshua as well as beloved mother-in-law, Suzanne Arnold Herrick (Richard). Bob was predeceased by his father-in-law Richard J. Arnold.

Bob loved to take hikes with Lisa and their dog at Spruce Mountain; he is also survived by his two favorite grand puppies Newman and Charlie.

Bob, you are loved beyond measure
Memories that will last forever
And always remember to
"Pick it up, it's good"
