Obituary

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - Robert J. Dishaw, formerly of St. Lawrence County, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Saratoga Hospital. He was 77. Robert (Bob) was born in 1934 in Norfolk, NY, the son of the late Lyle and Evelyn (LaComb) Dishaw. He married Lucille Hart at Sacred Heart Church, Massena, NY on August 21, 1965 with Lucille's brother, Rev. Rolland Hart officiating. Robert served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959 as a teletype operator. Before his retirement in 1995, he worked at both SUNY Potsdam and Clarkson University as a brick-mason. He demonstrated his skill and commitment to his profession when he designed and was granted a patent for a brick and block toother masonry tool. He was a self-taught bass player and shared his joy of music for many years in various bands, most notably the Stardusters. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Lucille and their three daughters, Janet (Timothy) Zukas of Burnt Hills, NY; Marjorie (Edward) Fournier of Greenfield Center, NY and Patricia (Timothy) Johnson of Greensburg, PA; seven grandchildren , Amy, Timothy and Jessica (Zukas), Evan and Olivia (Fournier) and Morgan and Katelyn (Johnson). He is also survived by his brother Leo (Patricia) Dishaw; one sister-in-law Dora Dishaw and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Robert is predeceased by two brothers, Paul Dishaw and Charles (Helen) Dishaw and one sister Marie (Tyler) Dishaw Bouyea. Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30am Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at Our Lady's Chapel, St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow in the chapel. Burial will be in the family plot at 12noon Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Colton, NY. Contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
