South Portland, Maine - Robert Bob Hickey of Standish Maine, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday (December 27, 2011). He was 82. Born on May 1, 1929 in Saratoga Springs, NY, he was the son of the late William J. and Mary A. (Nevins) Hickey. A 1947 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, he later received his B.S. in Economics from Siena College and also graduated with an associates degree in electrical technology from Hudson Valley Technical Institute. Bob served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 and was stationed in Germany. Married to the former Laura Lorraine Hogan in 1955, Bob worked as a Sales Representative for IBM in Kingston, NY and Simplex Time Recorder Company in Portland, ME. He moved his family to Maine in 1963 and resided in Portland until 1974, when he moved to his beloved home on Sebago Lake in Standish. He ran his own company, Atlanta Time Clocks, until his retirement in 1990. During his retirement years, he drove school buses for the Windham School District. Bob was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in North Windham and enjoyed hunting, fishing, alpine skiing and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. William J. and Mary Frances (Collins) Hickey and a sister and brother-in-law, Maryjane and Joseph Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Laura (Hogan) Hickey; his daughters, Laura Joyce and her husband Richard, and her twin sister Susan Hickey; one son, Robert Hickey and his wife Kelly; his brother-in-law, John M. Hogan and his wife Erin, three grandchildren, Dr. Ryan Joyce, Christopher Joyce and Nikki Hickey and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Friday (Dec. 30, 2011) in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 919 Roosevelt Trail, Windham. The Rite of Burial with military honors will be conducted at 10am Saturday (Dec. 31, 2011) at the family plot in St. Peters Cemetery, West Ave., Saratoga Springs.
