Obituary

Bokeelia, FL - Robert Anthony Jacot, 84, formerly of Potsdam, NY, passed away peacefully at Saratoga Hospital on June 7, 2013. Born in Potsdam to Charles and Amelia Jacot, Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeanine Jacot, and his children, Brian Jacot and his wife Paula of Saratoga Springs, NY; Denise Rogers and her husband Rick of Penn Yan , NY; Andre Jacot of Parishville NY; Suzanne Beaulieu and her husband Marc of Wilton, NY; his brother Edward of Parishville, NY; his sister Martha of Owasso, OK: 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a large extended family of nieces and nephews. Bob graduated from Potsdam Central School in 1944, where he was a 4 sport letterman in his senior year. He went on the play varsity hockey at Clarkson College, and was inducted into the Potsdam High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. He received an Honorary Degree from Clarkson University in 2009. Bob loved sports and continued to be an active golfer, hunter, and fisherman until his later years. He was an US Army Veteran, having served as a Communications Officer from 1950 to 1953, and was an active member of the VFW, AMVETS, and The Moose Club. Bob retired from Niagara Mohawk in 1987 after 34 years of service, and was a resident of Bokeelia, FL from 1988 until his passing. Bob and Jeanine spent their summers during their retirement years in the North Country enjoying family and friends at their cottage on Blake Lake. Calling hours for family and friends will be Thursday, June 13th, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Garner Funeral Home at 10 Lawrence Ave., Potsdam, NY. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Potsdam, NY on Friday at 10:00 p.m., followed by a burial ceremony at St Mary's Cemetery in Potsdam. The family will gather with friends at Mama Lucia's at 12 Noon in Potsdam, following the burial ceremony. The family asks that memorial donations be made to Veterans Inc. 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605, or online at www.veteransinc.org. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J.
