Malta, NY - Robert J. (Bob) LaBombard, Sr. passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital. He was 76. Born on July 10, 1938 in Blackbrook, NY, he was the son of the late Edward J. LaBombard II and Dorothy Mae LaBombard. He worked as a security guard at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa, retiring after 15 years. Bob loved fishing and hunting and enjoyed playing cards and Yahtzee with his friends at Malta Meadows. He was a man of few words but many fishing poles which he used daily. In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased by his loving wife of 37 years Joyce (Duval) LaBombard and his nephew, Edward K. Bergeron. Survivors include his children Robert J. LaBombard, Jr. of FL and Patricia Sponcy of IN; sisters Roberta Riddell of Rotterdam Jct. and Jane (Ed) Bergeron of Austin, TX; brother Edward J. (Louise) LaBombard III of Niskayuna; granddaughter Diana Sponcy of Schenectady; nephews Edward J. LaBombard IV of VA, John Bergeron of TX and niece Robin Bergeron also of TX. There will be no public calling hours and a private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family.
