Robert Joseph Rossi, 56, passed away peacefully at his childhood home on Spring St. early on the morning of September 9th, 2011. A lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs, Bob was born on December 22nd, 1954. He was the third son of the late Nicholas J. Rossi and Leona Senecal Rossi. He attended St. Peters Academy and graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1973. He continued his education at Elmira College. In his early years he was a successful harness horse trainer at the Saratoga Raceway, where he experienced many wins, including Chriss Folly and Dr. Beech. As an avid horseracing fan, Bob enjoyed farm management, as well as, the "back stretch" at the Saratoga Race Course. He was happiest spending time on the Sadie Hart Ranch with his three beloved dogs. Bobby possessed a simple, generous nature and selfless spirit. Everybody loved "Bobaloo" who had a heart of gold. A favorite pastime of Bobbys was perusing antique auctions in search of special items for his nieces and nephews. They always looked forward to the unique and thoughtful gifts from Uncle Bob. Bobby also took pride in gourmet cooking and enjoyed sharing recipes with family and friends, while lovingly critiquing those given to him. Bob was predeceased by both parents and his dearly loved youngest sister, Tricia. He is survived by his siblings: Nicholas Jr. (Holly), Michael (Martha), Cathy King (Kevin) and Timothy (Diane). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Niki, Stephen, Cory, Leigh, Riki Lee, Michael, Laura, Zachary, Catherine, Riley, Jacob and Maggie. Also surviving are several cousins, many aunts and uncles, and his former wife, Carole Jean Flanagan. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service celebrating Bobbys life to be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, Sept. 15th at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave. The family graciously thanks the Community Hospice and Saratoga Hospital for their compassion and understanding.
