Clifton Park- Robert Andrew Shaw (Bob), 77, passed away on February 24, 2026. He was born on October 11, 1948, to the late Albert Shaw and Marion Felton. Robert lived a life marked by quiet strength, steadfast loyalty, and a deep commitment to those he loved. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed.
Robert shared a long and devoted marriage with his wife, Valerie Shaw, building a home filled with love, humor, and unwavering support. Together they raised two daughters, Nicole Shaw (Bill Williams Jr.) and Danielle Shaw, who remained the greatest sources of pride in his life.
Becoming a grandfather brought Robert some of his greatest joy. He adored Caiden and Makaleigh Williams, cherishing every moment spent with them. He loved watching Caiden play baseball, attending Yankee games together, and sharing their mutual love of the Buffalo Bills. He treasured watching Makaleigh grow, begin to talk, and develop her own bright personality.
Robert is survived by his stepmother, Nancy Shaw, his brothers William and Patrick Shaw, and many nieces and nephews.
In his early adulthood, Robert served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973, working in flight simulation. He was then a computer programmer for multiple companies including GE, Key Bank, Teksystems, IBM and Golub to name a few. His service reflected his lifelong fascination with how things worked and his natural talent for problem‑solving. That same skill carried into every chapter of his life. Known as the family’s “Mr. Fix It,” Robert could repair anything, figure out any problem, and offer help before anyone even had to ask. His generosity was practical, steady, and deeply felt by all who knew him. After retirement he loved to be with friends at The Rusty Nail where he met many new friends and they became a second family to him.
Robert was also known for being stubborn in his ways, a trait that often made those around him smile. His determination, strong opinions, and unwavering sense of what was right were part of what made him uniquely himself. Beneath that stubbornness was a man of immense heart—loyal, dependable, and always ready to show up for the people he cared about.
He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and resilience. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons passed down, and the family who loved him beyond measure.
