Saratoga Springs - Robert Thomas Stiles, 79, of Saratoga Springs passed away on July 5, 2022 surrounded by his devoted wife Orpha and his loving daughters.

Born on May 14, 1943, at Saratoga Springs, NY, the fourth of six children to Stuart Stiles and Virginia White. He graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1963 and was joined in marriage to Orpha Lee Smith on March 31, 1963. Robert was a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs and a member of the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge 161 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Robert loved spending time with his daughters' and their families. He would travel to their homes for any reason. He also enjoyed traveling on vacation with them when the opportunity arose. He would jump at the chance to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to plan activities with them. He loved fishing, camping, and looking at his coin collection. Robert's family was the first and foremost important part of his life.

Robert was employed by General Electric for 36 years as a turbine tester. After retiring from GE, he worked for the Saratoga Police Department as a crossing guard, and as traffic control for the Saratoga Raceway during racing season.

Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Orpha Lee Stiles, three daughters; Donna (William) Jackson, Theresa (Robert) Reiner, Denise (John) Harkins, nine grandchildren; Stuart (Sara) Stiles, Helen Johnson, Orpha (Kristopher) Ploegstra. Nicholas (Claire) Reiner, Jessica (Andrew) Lim. John Harkins, Seth Harkins, Katie (Devon) Lupton, Thomas (Christina) Harkins, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents Stuart Stiles and Virginia Stiles, brothers Stuart Stiles and Edward Stiles and sister Monica Lee. Survived by his brother Malcolm Stiles, sister Ellen Calabrese.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation hours on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 10am- 12pm at William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Spring, NY (518-84-5373). The Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge 161 will hold their service at 11:30am.

A funeral home service to be celebrated at 12pm at by Fr. Charles Wallace.

Burial will follow at Greenridge Cemetery, Lincoln Ave., Saratoga Springs.
