Albany, NY - U.S Navy Veteran Robert (Bob) C. Thomas of North Pearl Street, Albany, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 12, 2018. Born October 12, 1940 in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Ernest and J. Patricia Thomas.

Bob was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady where he was well known for his basketball talent. He also played for the YMCA club team, the Warriors. Bob enlisted in the US Navy upon graduation where he was on active duty followed by years in the US Navy Reserve. He was awarded a good conduct medal in 1962. When honorably discharged from the Navy he was self-employed as a drywall finisher which he did until his retirement. Many would joyfully recall him to be a comedian.

Bob is survived by his brother Richard Thomas of Schenectady; his four children, Ronald (Janice) Thomas of Ballston Spa, Julianne Thomas of Saratoga Springs, Mark Thomas of Ballston Spa, and Matthew Thomas of Porters Corners. Bob was also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. One of his greatest pleasures was hearing the endless stories about them.

Burial with military honors will be at 10am Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
