Saratoga Springs - Robert E. Travis Sr., 74, entered into eternal peace on January 6, 2021. Born July 3, 1946, a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs New York.

Robert was a graduate of Saratoga Springs high school. He worked for 50 years in the Saratoga Springs school district as a head custodian and in later years as a hall monitor. He spent many years as part of his career with the CSEA union in various roles.

Robert's true love was his family, especially his two grandsons. He loved going for rides to Vermont with his wife and seeing what treasures that they could find at the garage sales along the way. He enjoyed spending time with his lifelong friends that nicknamed him Chubby cakes. Robert will be remembered for his caring, kind and genuine soul. He was always there to help when his friends and family needed him the most.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Laing Travis; his two children Rob Travis, Jr. of Saratoga Springs and Kristina Travis Reardon (Jimmy Scotti) of Ballston Spa, his two beloved grandchildren Tyler and Travis Reardon and his cat Chubby. He was the brother of Sally (Bob) Sanders, Rosey Travis, Ethel Travis Pregent, Richard (Loretta) Travis, Art (Annette) Travis. Robert is also survived by the Laing family and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his cherished parents Richard and Helen Travis, his sister Mary Pratt and his two brothers Fred and Billy Travis.

The Travis family would also like to extend their deepest heartfelt gratitude to all the nurses and doctors at the ICU in Saratoga Hospital that cared for him.
