Queensbury, NY - Roberta E. Oborne, 84, formerly of Westbury, Long Island, passed away on September 29, 2017 at Mary's Haven in Saratoga Springs.
An Anglophile, committed feminist, and lover of the arts and astronomy, Roberta was a community activist for decades, working with the Greater Westbury Arts Council, the Westbury Library Board, and Westbury Neighborhood House. She was also a founding member of the Washington, D.C. National Museum of Women in the Arts.
Roberta, who was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann, leaves behind her children, Wendy (Patrick Nilon), Keith (Shannon), and Roberta J. DiBisceglie (Charles); grandchildren Molly Roth (Brian) and great-granddaughter Kali, Eliza and Miles Oborne, Megan, Rick, Johanna, and Mark Nilon, in addition to many loving friends.
A memorial service will be held privately with family.
