Saratoga Springs, NY - Roberta (Robbie) Mary Spensieri passed away Friday morning, Dec. 20, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 56. Born on May 15, 1957, she was raised, resided and educated in Saratoga Springs, NY. She loved the scriptures of the bible and was a virtual attendee at Joel Osteen Ministries Lakewood Church. Her wheelchair never slowed her down at all, as she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved to travel and take her extended family on vacations to her favorite places, such as the Mirror Lake Inn, Finger Lake Wine Country, coastal Maine, as well as day trips to Vermont and in the Adirondacks. She was an avid giver/shopper and loved great restaurants, although she preferred home cooked comfort food. When given the extraordinary set of circumstances, she always chose life and an abundant one at that. She is survived by her family that adored everything about her; her loving parents, Frank and Mary (D'Agostino) Spensieri; her best friend, husband in spirit and lifelong companion of over 30 years, Jeff Carter; her sister, Janice (Everett) Murray; three brothers, John (Christina) Spensieri, Frank (Jocelyn) Spensieri and Anthony (Angie) Spensieri; Jeff's parents, Robert Carter and Nancy Lesh; nieces, Lindsey Murray, Nina and Samantha Spensieri, Rebekah and Leah Carter, Moriah and Sierrah Bonn; nephews, Bradley Murray, Gianni, Benjamin and Armani Spensieri, Stephen Carter, Carter and Zachary Bonn and Caleb Carter. her long-time aides for over two decades of loyal service and friendship, Heidi Young, Esmeralda Paddock, Jeanne Hodnett and Mary Dickens, along with many other therapists, nurses and doctors that helped make her extraordinary life a bit more comfortable. Relatives and friends will gather from 10 to 11am Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 in the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway and a prayer service celebrating Robbie's life will begin at 11am in the Church. Burial will be private.
