IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robertson
Baker
October 23, 1926 – July 16, 2017
Saratoga Springs - Robertson Baker, 90, loving husband, father, educator, outdoorsman, and by general acclaim a great guy died on Sunday, July 16, 2017.
Born in Ossining, New York, to the late Robertson and Helen he developed his love of the outdoors along the banks of the Hudson River. He attended college at Albany State where he met and subsequently married Isabel (Cooper) in 1949.
A beloved educator he was often approached by both parents and students who expressed their appreciation, some detailing how he changed their lives for the better. Although challenged by the effects of a childhood accident Bob loved to be outdoors especially in the Adirondacks. While he scaled several of the high peaks he was happiest paddling the waters both placid and rapid with his friend Ray.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Frances.
Together he and Isabel raised five sons, Robertson (Susan), James (Lynn), Charles (Bonnie), Christopher (Lynn) and Thomas (Amy). He also leaves behind five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends and relatives may call at 10AM on Tuesday, July 25th with a funeral service at 11:00 at William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's name can be made to the Home of the Good Shepherd Angel Fund, 400 Church Street, Saratoga Springs New York or the Alzheimer's Association @ act.alz.org.
