Saratoga Springs, NY - Rose S. Cinquino, 100+ a resident of Wesley Health Care Center, peacefully passed away the morning of March 30, 2023.
Born in Mechanicville on October 21, 1922, Rose was the beloved daughter of Luigi and Anna Maria Santabarbara. One of nine children, Rose and her family later moved to Schenectady where she graduated from High School as Salutatorian of her class.
Rose went on to graduate from Syracuse University School of Nursing in 1948 with high honors. Upon graduation, she worked for Syracuse University Hospital (Orthopedic Nursing), New York City Hospital and Syracuse Memorial Hospital (Operating Room Nursing) and Ellis Hospital Training School where she was a clinical instructor in medical nursing duties.
On October 18, 1952, Rose married her beloved husband of 55 years Michael J. Cinquino and moved to Florida where they later made their home in Pembroke Pines. After 41 years in the nursing profession, Rose retired and returned to the area.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, Michael, her brothers: Andrew, Salvador (Joe), Chester (Chet) and Sisters: Adeline (Dill), Pauline (Polly), Concetta (Connie), Angeline (Angie) and Anna (Annie); Brother-in-law, Victor Cinquino, Sister-in-laws, Philomena Berg and Beverly Cinquino.
She is survived be her Sister-in-law and caregiver, Deborah Cinquino; Best Friend and Caregiver, Donna Dingmon; Brother-in-law, John Cinquino and Nieces and Nephews on the East and West Coasts. Rose is also survived by many Dear Friends (Family) including Lois and Michael Morrett and Karen and Ann Cornell.
Rose loved going out to dinner with family and friends (esp. at Canalis Restaurant) and always enjoyed her margarita with no salt and two rocks! She was a voracious reader and puzzle-solver and always enjoyed spirited political debates. Rose also loved to travel.
Very Special Thanks to The Saratoga Community Hospice and to The Wesley Health Care Center for providing Rose with wonderful care and quality of life.
Rose was a very spiritual woman and a communicant of St. Clement's Parish. At Rose's request, there will be no calling hours. In celebration of her life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clements Parish, 231 Lake Avenue (Saratoga Springs) at 10am on April 5, 2023.
Interment will follow be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Community Hospice of Saratoga , 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, 12866 in Rose's name.
