Saratoga Springs NY - Rose Faiola Dowen, of Maplewood Manor, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 5, 2008. Born on March 14, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Camillo and Mary Rocco Faiola. Rose lived most of her life in Saratoga Springs. She derived great joy in her friendships at Friendly's, where they gathered daily for coffee, when she lived at the Raymond Watkins Apartments. Rose liked to tell stories of being a bookkeeper at Bigsbe Motors in Saratoga and her days as a waitress at her aunt and uncles restaurant, Pennells. Rose was the wife of the late Robert Dowen who passed away in 1981. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Warren Goody Faiola, Raymond Faiola, Michael Faiola and her sister Mary Faiola. Rose is survived by many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clements Church, 231 Lake Ave. on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 11:00am with the Rev. Neil Draves-Arpaia officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Greenridge Cemetery, Lincoln Ave. A special thanks goes out to the wonderful staff at Maplewood Manor who took loving care of her.
