In Loving Memory of Rose Marie Licata
Saratoga Springs - Rose Marie Licata, a woman of grace, warmth, and unwavering strength, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 23rd, 2023, at the age of 91. Born on June 10th, 1932, in Manhattan, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Deluca.
Rose Marie's journey led her from the bustling streets of Manhattan to the heart of the Bronx, where fate introduced her to the love of her life, Anthony "Tony" Licata, at his father's seafood business. Their love story blossomed, and on August 27, 1949, Rose and Tony embarked on a lifelong journey together. They eventually made Saratoga Springs their home, where they lovingly raised three beautiful children.
Devoted to her community, Rose Marie dedicated many years of her life to Saratoga County Social Services until her well-deserved retirement. Her impact on the lives of those she served will forever be remembered.
Rose Marie is survived by her two sons, Anthony V. Licata (Sharon) and Michael F. Licata (Tina); her daughter, Lisa Marie Licata-Timpe (Brian) and her sister, Connie Baker (Stan). She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren, Bryan Licata (Danielle), Meagan Dickinson (Donnie), Sydney Rose Stoll, Casey Dougall, Jennifer and Kelly Licata. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Taylor Ann Catalfamo, William Dickinson, Evelyn and Delilah Licata. Also a Great-great-grandmother to Kambria Whipple.
Rose Marie is reunited in eternal peace with her late husband, Tony.
The family deeply appreciates the abundant love and support offered during this difficult time.
A memorial gathering to honor Rose Marie will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 4-7pm at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (518-584-5373).
The funeral service, a Rite of Christian Burial, is set to take place at 11am on Friday, December 1st, at St. Clements Church, 231 Lake Ave. Burial will follow at Greenridge Cemetery, Lincoln Ave.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter in loving memory of Rose Marie Licata.
May her soul rest in peace, and may the memories of her love and laughter comfort those who knew and cherished her.
