Saratoga Springs, NY - Rose Pennell, of Tequesta, Fl. passed away Friday (December 16, 2011). Born and raised in Mechanicville, NY, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Loretta Gemmiti, a resident of Saratoga Springs for many years and since 1990, resided in Tequesta, Fl. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Henry J. Pennell; four brothers; Armand, Joseph, Edward and Vincent Gemmiti and one sister, Mary Mitola (Tony). Survivors include her five children, Patricia A. Willson of Saratoga Springs and Vero Beach, FL, Carol Angelo (Vince) of Newnan, GA, Donna McDonald (Edward) of Tequesta, FL, Paul Pennell (Patti) of Malta, NY and Henry J. Pennell, Jr. (Sharon) of Chester, MD; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Anna Purcell of Bristol, CT and many nieces and nephews. Rose will always be remembered for hosting and being the life of the party, for her delicious Italian meals and for her devotion to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8pm Tuesday (Dec. 27, 2011) at the William J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2011) in St. Clements Roman Catholic Church, 231 Lake Avenue. Mrs. Pennell will be laid to rest beside her loving husband Henry, in St. Peters Cemetery, West Avenue.
