Saratoga Springs, NY - Rosemary C. Gartelman, of Embury Apts., passed away Saturday (Apr. 24, 2010) at the Wesley Health Care Center, Lawrence St. She was 71. Born on Jan. 6, 1939 in Yonkers, NY, she is a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (O'Hara) Hendricks. She married her husband, Arthur Gartelman on September 20, 1958 and they moved to Saratoga Springs in 1976. Rosemary was a department manager at the Carl Company in Pyramid Mall and later became a medical transcriptionist at Saratoga Hospital. Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting and bird watching. During their marriage, Rosemary and Arthur enjoyed traveling as well and her favorite spots included Hawaii, Disney World and Maine. Over the years, Rosemary's strength, compassion, generosity and sense of humor touched many people's lives. In addition to her devoted husband of 51 years, Arthur Gartelman, survivors include four loving and grateful daughters, Peggy DeGraw of Lake George, Joanne (husband David) Hahn of Porter Corners, Patty Rowe of Saratoga Springs and Annie Gartelman of Ballston Spa; nine grandchildren, Mike DeGraw, Teri (Jamie) Bush, Melissa DeGraw, Becky Bowman, Chris DeGraw, Erin DeGraw, Emily Hahn, Catherine Rowe and Ronan Rowe and five great grandchildren, Eurick, Bodhi, Caleb and Haylei Bush and Kaitlin Bowman. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Tuesday (Apr. 27, 2010) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, 584-5373. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 3159 Route 9N, Greenfield Center. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery.
