Saratoga Springs, NY - Roy Richard Farrell passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Roy was born in Malvern, Arkansas on September 1, 1936. He joined the Airforce in 1956. He married his wife, Rose M. Farrell (nee VanDenburgh) on May 16, 1959 in Saratoga Springs, New York. As is often the case with military, they spent time in several states and countries during his career, including California, Massachusetts, Florida, Germany and the Philippines. Eventually, they settled in Satellite Beach Florida. Roy retired from the Airforce after 23 years of service in 1979. Shortly after he started working for Martin Marietta as quality control. He retired in 1998, and he and Rose travelled the country in their camper, seeing many of the sights and wonders of the United States.

Roy loved fishing and being outdoors, spending time with his family and friends, fixing things around the house and reminiscing his exploits in the military and his time with Martin Marietta.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rose Farrell, and their children: Tanya L. Donaldson of Greenfield Center, New York; Roy R. Farrell II of Saratoga Springs, New York; and Timothy M. Farrell of Cocoa, Florida. Grandchildren: James Williams, Mandy Donaldson, Samantha Donaldson, John Donaldson, Justin Albert, Cassie Albert, Shane Farrell, Shawn Farrell, Lee Burns III, William Burns, Chrystina Strickland, Emily Strickland, and Kara Strickland. Numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.

Private services were held August 5, 2020 at the William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home in Saratoga Springs, New York followed by burial with military honors at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, New York.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or to cancer research.
