Halfmoon, NY - Roy Galusha passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 quietly in his sleep.

Born in Ballston Spa, NY, March 18, 1931, he was the son of the late Clesson and Nellie Van Lew Galusha. He was predeceased by his brother Earl and his sisters, Beatrice, Charlotte, June and Shirley.

Roy was a long-time farm hand, working for local farmer Datus Hovey for more than 30 years. Datus had taken Roy into his home and established a friendship that lasted until Datus' passing in 1999. Roy retired and moved to Mechanicville and Ballston Spa for several years before spending his last 6 years in Halfmoon. He enjoyed spending his time reminiscing about the days on the farm, enjoying his guilty pleasures on the porch at Birchwood, and visits by his friend Judy Smith.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11am Friday, September 1, 2017 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518-584-5373). A funeral home service will be at 11am and burial will follow in Powell Wiswall Cemetery, Plummer Road, Ballston Spa.
