Saratoga Springs - Rukiye  "Cookie" "Ruthie" "Nanny" Husseinoff of Connemara Court and formerly of West Palm Beach, FL, died on Friday, July 21, 2017 at her daughters home surrounded by her family.  She had just celebrated her 95th birthday.

Born on July 7, 1922 in Kobe, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Ibraham and Mahinur Eniley.  She came to America in 1948 where she met the love of her life, Shevket.  A year later they were married.. She worked as an interpreter for Voice of America and was also a dressmaker.

She loved cooking, gardening and telling stories of her past.  She was a devoted mother and much loved grandmother and great grandmother.  Rukiye was admired by her family for her unconditional love and support, as well as unwavering devotion to her faith and duties as a mother-figure to all those in her life.

She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Shev whom she married on January 22, 1949.  She is survived by her three daughter, Shareen Brown of Holmes, NY, Nora Sotansky and her husband , Ralph of Saratoga Springs, and Deena Wilkinson and her husband , Tom of Saratoga Springs: her grandchildren, Kristin, Karl, Timothy,Thomas, Sally, Ryan, Jean Ellen, Samantha and Sean; and her great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Corinne, Joey, Aiden , Christian and Owen.

Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8pm Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373).

A funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville.
