Saratoga Springs - Russell James Heinz Sr., 63, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 16, 2008. Born on June 21, 1945 in Jersey City, NJ, he is the son of the late Frank and Jean Guthrie Heinz. Russ graduated from Bogota High School in Bogota, NJ. He then served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967. He worked as a Senior Technical Advisor for the Xerox Corporation in Albany, retiring in 2003 after 33 years. In addition to his parents, Russell was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Margaret E. Grace. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Diane Grace Heinz, one son, Russell J. Heinz Jr. and one daughter, Donna Heinz-Pollard, three granddaughters, Genevieve, Jacqueline and Marcye Pollard, all of Saratoga Springs, one brother, Donald Heinz and his wife Diane of Longwood, FL, his father-in-law, Arthur Grace of Fair Lawn, NJ, one brother-in-law, Bob Grace and his companion Nancy Cushon of Albany and nephews Scott Heinz and Dennis Grace. Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9pm Wednesday at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, August 21 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville.
