Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY - Sally A. Biggie, 74, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Saratoga Hospital. Sally was born on April 19, 1936 in Saratoga Springs and lived there her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Edmund and Ruth (Gaffney) Reilly. She graduated from St. Clement's Elementary School and also graduated from Saratoga Springs High School, Class of 1954. Sally was a member of the Saratoga Cadet Drum & Bugle Corp. in her youth. She was very involved with the Girl Scouts, St. Clements school and church events, including the annual horse show. She was employed by the Saratoga Springs School District as a teacher's aide for over 25 years. After retirement from the school district, she worked at Bruno's Restaurant, Cliff's Restaurant, Longfellows Restaurant, and enjoyed working at the information booth on Broadway for the Saratoga Springs Chamber of Commerce. Sally also was involved in providing house tours for the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation, and a member of the Ladies of Charity. She attended many events at Skidmore College, supported local church dinners, and liked to go to one of her favorite places, Lakeside Farms. She also liked her garage sales. Sally was loved by her family and friends on Jumel Place, and most importantly, never wanted to miss her monthly class reunion luncheons with all her friends from the Saratoga High School Class of '54. Sally touched many lives and will be remembered for her generous, kind, and loving nature. She lived life to the fullest, right up to her last breath, and she loved spending time with all her friends and family. The family would like to thank all the Physicians, Nurses, and staff who treated Sally with such compassionate and professional care through her illness at Saratoga Hospital and the Hortense & Louis Rubin Dialysis Ctr. In addition to her parents Sally is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, P. Joseph Biggie, who passed on Feb. 5, 2001. Survivors include her three children, Patricia (John) Greenwood of Gansevoort, Paul (Cindy) Biggie of South Glens Falls, and Phil (Betsy) Biggie of Syracuse; three grandsons, Brendan and Kevin Greenwood, and Sean Biggie and two granddaughters, Danielle and Meghan Biggie. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10am Monday April 18, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel directly next to St. Clements Church, 231 Lake Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am in the church.
