Saratoga Springs, NY - Our sweet and kind son and brother Sam (Salvatore V. Calbone) passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015. If you were fortunate enough to know Sam you would have loved him. He was presently a student at U of Albany and had many interests and passions most centering around music. To pursue that interest he attended a training program in Florida for professional studio recording. While never working full time in the field he used what he learned writing his own music and working with others. He was an avid reader loving books ranging from eastern religion to ancient civilization. One of his favorite activities was family movie night. Sam had a great love for animals. He also loved the ocean and adventures. Last year he spent time traveling and living in Peru which had a great impact on his views of being healthy and living a sustainable life style. Sam was a dreamer imagining the world could be a much better place. On his last day with us he shared that someday he hoped to do something that would change the world. While he won't live to see that, he changed all our lives and we miss him deeply. Sam is survived by his parents Angelo and Kate Calbone of Saratoga Springs, his brother and wife Angelo and Ashley Calbone of Chicago, IL, his sister Celia Calbone of Saratoga Springs and his maternal grandmother Rosemary McGee of Wheeling, West Virginia. Sam was part of a large loving family leaving many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sam was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Angelo and Nina Calbone and his maternal grandfather, Bernard McGee. "How lucky we are to have something that makes saying good bye so hard." Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
