Saratoga Springs, NY. - Shirl T. Reinhart, 86, died at home on Monday, April 11, 2011. Born in Elmira, NY on September 10, 1924, he was the son of the late David L. and Rose (Nonenmacher) Reinhart. During WWII, Shirl served in the European Theater of Operation aboard the LST 907 as a ships cook, 2nd class. Following the war, Shirl lived for 60 years in the Rochester area. He spent the majority of his career with the Eastman Kodak Company where he retired in 1985 as supervisor of computer-related training. Shirl was active for many years in the Data Processing Management Association including as its international vice president. He also served on the East Irondequoit Board of Education and was a member of Asbury First United Methodist Church for many years. In 2008, Shirl moved to Prestwick Chase in Saratoga Springs. In addition to his parents, Shirl was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Emelia, whom he married on February 5, 1949; their daughter, Roxanne Reinhart Baldasarre; and his sister, Betty Lee. He is survived by his daughter, Christine (Jon) Hoek of Wilton, NY; his sons, Gregg (Anne-Marie Keegan) Reinhart of Newtown, CT, and David (Kristin) Reinhart of Berlin, Germany; six grandchildren, Matthew and Roxanne Hoek and Mark, Phillip, Franziska, and Catherine Reinhart; adopted granddaughter, Frances Suarez; twenty-one nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends. Shirl is also survived by his cherished friend, Lila Harrington, of Saratoga Springs. Shirls life will be celebrated on Friday, April 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church at Fifth Avenue and Henning Road.
