Obituary

Stacy Elizabeth O'Hara Stacy Elizabeth O'Hara of Saratoga Springs, NY died peacefully on the morning of October 31st, 2009 with her loving husband Brendan, mother Carmen, and family at her side. She was 38 years old and courageously fought illness for 11 years. Born in West Islip, Long Island in 1971, she was the loving daughter of Carmen (Accettella) Milligi and the late Raymond (Topper) Milligi III, of Saratoga Springs. She is a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, where she played varsity tennis, and competitively rode horses. She attended Champlain College in Vermont before graduating with a Bachelors Degree from Siena College. Stacy went on to earn a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Russell Sage College. Stacy married Brendan P. O'Hara in October of 1998 and worked in Saratoga Springs as a Finance Manager for Topper Pontiac, Buick, GMC. After earning her Masters Degree in Education, she worked as a substitute teacher until fulfilling a dream of becoming a mother. Stacy gave birth to her daughter, Catherine in 2002, becoming a full time mom and loving wife. Stacy's love for her daughter Catherine was as pure as any love....."Catherine the Great", as her mom expressed. She took great joy in her blessed arrival and cherished every moment as a family. Her love for all children was shared daily by her volunteerism for her daughters classrooms as a chaperone, and leader of many other activities associated with Catherine's education. She was gifted in many ways. However, her inspiration, love, and skill as an Equestrian began to blossom as a young girl and led her to ride throughout the Northeast earning many championships and accolades along the way. Stacy's love for riding continued until her passing. Each horse she rode provided her an intuitive, universal fulfillment, understood only by her and the horses she rode. Stacy loved being near the ocean and its beautiful beaches. She took great joy and comfort on the beaches of Cape Cod with her husband and daughter, and inspirational walks with family along the beaches of Fire Island to its famed lighthouse. Stacy also loved traveling to NYC to attend theatre with her husband. She enjoyed concerts and music with family & friends. Her love for her gardens, flowers, and the outdoors was ever present. Stacy's incredible smile, love, and dedication to her family, friends, and those she met throughout life will forever hold her in our hearts. To My Beautiful Wife: Your presence with its tranquil allure Ignites passion my heart willingly receives. Your attentive warmth nourishes empathy our daughter uses to view the world through your eyes of kindness. All our love forever, come rain or shine.
