Stanford Allan Jones
March 30, 1967-December 18, 2022
With very heavy hearts we announce the passing of Stanford Allan Jones, 55, of Corinth, NY. Stan was born in Hull, Massachusetts on March 30, 1967 to Della and Allan Jones. He attended schools in Massachusetts, Saratoga Springs and Corinth.
Stan was always an outdoorsman; he loved the woods. At a young age he worked for Dumac and Asplun. He especially loved the Adirondacks, often taking family on back road trips in areas that he learned while working with Dumac, usually ending up in Lake Placid.
Stanford enjoyed gardening, creating beautiful gardens that he often started from cuttings taken from his mother's garden. He liked to design and build ponds with a great eye and lovely outcome. He spent much of his time cooking all types of food and pastries. He loved to make cheesecakes and big meals for family and friends. His love of cooking began when he was a child and started collecting cookbooks. He really enjoyed entertaining his and his fiancée's friends with his barbecues.
His biggest love though was the ocean, having spent his youth on the beach with his many aunts and cousins. Fishing was a joy for him; he often went out to the deep water for big fish. His fishing recently was more apt to involve his son, Zachary, and granddaughter, Piper, in a canoe on the Hudson River. Stan was a sensitive, clever, funny man who was blessed with a great eye for antiques and decorating, among his many talents.
Stan was always ready to help his mom and whatever way he could, whether it was helping her prepare for a holiday event or making the shutters for her house.
He was a daredevil since the day he was born. He climbed trees so high that the fire department had to come get him down. He would climb out the window and wander off to visit family. He had no fear, the doctors even said so!
Stan loved playing outdoors with his younger brothers Jeffrey and Davey, building forts, throwing snowballs, jumping in leaves. As the oldest brother, Stan often coaxed his younger brothers to ride along on dirt bikes. When Stan and his brother, Jeffrey, were kids they always dreamed of owning a sailboat and sailing on the ocean. Jeffrey remembers that they always wanted to be lobsterman like the neighbor next door. One time they went down to the local pier, found a piece of styrofoam, and floated out onto the ocean. Jeffrey jumped off and swam to shore to get help. Stan had to be rescued by the Coast Guard! Stan was 13 when his youngest brother Josh was born. He would put his red bandana on his baby brother's head and rock him.
Stan was predeceased by his step-father David R. Kenyon, birth-father Allan P. Jones, maternal grand-parents Della and Frank Yannizzi, and paternal grand-parents Ethel and Allan Jones.
Stan is survived by his mother Della M. Kenyon of Greenfield Center, NY; fiancée, June Tubbs of Corinth; son Zachary Jones of Lake Luzerne, NY; daughter LaChelle Murphy of Schenectady, NY; brother Jeffrey A. Jones and his wife Milena Giraldo of Saratoga, NY; half-brother Joshua R. Kenyon and his wife Nicole of Maysville, NC; step-brother, David J. Kenyon and his wife Barbara of Middlegrove, NY; and five grandchildren: Jonathan Murphy-Price, Lillian Hotaling, Piper Jones, Ethan Jones, and Zoey Allen.
Stan is also survived by his step-family in MA: step-mother Elaine Jones and step-brothers Mike and John Gilpatrick.
