Saratoga Springs, NY – Stanley M. Kosek, loving husband of Joan (Piteras) Kosek, entered into eternal life on Monday, December 18, 2023, with his loving family at his side.

Born on May 24, 1937 in Cohoes, NY, Stan was the son of the late Joseph Kosek Sr., and Stasia (Karwiel) Kosek. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Joseph Kosek Jr.

He attended St. Michael's School, Christian Brothers Academy, and Siena College before moving to Saratoga Springs.

Stan was the Regional Computer Center Director for the Saratoga BOCES for 30 years, retiring in 1992. As a talented musician, he was co-leader of the Kosek Brothers New Yorkers Orchestra for many years and was active playing bass with St. Clements' choir for 10 years. An avid sports enthusiast, Stan enjoyed fishing, and attending Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots games with his family. Most of all, he followed horse racing year-round but especially liked the Saratoga racing season.

In addition to his wife Joan of 64 years, Stan is survived by his children Michael (Gina) Kosek and Teresa (Paul) Ostwald; and his cherished grandchildren Shelley Kosek, Bridgette Kosek Brown, and Patrick and Christopher Ostwald. Other survivors include his sister Sophie (late Tony) Astemborski; sisters-in-law Emily (late Joe) Kosek, Carol (late Fred) Curtis, and Barbara Ethier; brother-in-law Gil Ethier and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30, Friday, December 22, 2023 at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated following the calling hour at 10:30am.

Interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery, Waterford, following the Mass.
