Schuylerville, NY Stephen R. Streit of King Rd. passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Glens Falls Hospital after a courageous fight with a long term illness. He was 65. Born on February 18, 1946 in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Oscar and Margaret (Richter) Streit. Stephen graduated from Aiken Senior High School in Cincinnati, Class of 1965 and served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972. For 24 years he was an FAA air traffic controller at various airports including Albany International. Stephen loved the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, Ham Radios and Jeopardy. He was especially fond of White Castle hamburgers. He was a very kind and gentle man, enjoying time with his family whenever possible. Stephen was of the Episcopal faith. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Constance who passed away June 7, 2010. Survivors include his daughter, Tiffany Streit of Niskayuna; step-son Todd (Barbara) Stunzi of Bremerton, WA, a granddaughter, Virginia Stunzi, his dear friend of 52-years, Robert Geiger, and several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Neil Draves-Arpaia at 9:30am Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Family will receive friends one half hour prior to services. Burial with military honors will follow at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY.
