Saratoga Springs, NY - Susan M. Dee passed away Monday, June 25, 2012 at Stanton Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Glens Falls, NY. She was 72. Born on July 11, 1939 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire England, she boldly arrived in the U.S. alone at the age of 18 aboard the Cunard Line The Queen Mary. Susan was a flight attendant for over 20 years with Eastern Airlines, travelling all over North and South America. At age 46, she adopted 3 boys in 3 years. She retired from Eastern Airlines in 1986 to faithfully raise her sons. Susan was always cheerful and loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed fine French Bordeaux, fine food, traveling and horseracing. She and her late husband, John T. Dee, owned several thoroughbreds and made the winners circle numerous times over the years. She was a jewel of the Saratoga Race Track, not missing a season in 30 years. Susan was very independent, while exuding class and elegance. At the age of 67 she took an adventurous Alaskan cruise, wanting to go alone. Survivors include her three sons, Kenneth Dee and his wife Judy of Exton, PA, Ralph Dee of Saratoga Springs, NY and John Dee and his fiancé Ashley Guile of Greenwich, NY; four grandchildren, John, Gabriel and Aidan Dee of Exton, PA and Skyler Dee of Saratoga Springs, NY and brothers-in-law Pat and Jim Dee of St. Louis, MO. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8pm Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Funeral services will be at 10am Friday, June 29, 2012 at the funeral home.
