IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Susan Marie
Gonino
August 26, 1958 – May 30, 2017
Saratoga Springs, NY - Susan Marie Gonino, 58, passed away suddenly on Tuesday (May 30, 2017) at Saratoga Hospital.
Born on August 26, 1958 in Watertown, NY, she graduated from Trumbull High School in 1976.
Survivors include her daughter, Lauren Marie Schlipmann; her father, Joseph J. Gonino, Sr.; her mother, Arlene (Webert) Young; two brothers, Joseph J. Gonino, Jr. and his wife Anita Gonino and David Gonino and his wife Susan Gonino; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Married on April 17, 1982 to Mark Louis Schlipmann, he died in 2011.
Susan was an active and creative artist, learning how to design and craft custom sterling silver and gemstone jewelry with her husband early in their marriage. She was an avid rock collector, reader, singer, and gardener throughout her life, creating many beautiful landscapes in the homes she lived in. She was also a skilled fine artist and an animal lover; ever since she was a young child, she loved looking after dogs and other animals, and owned many beloved dogs through her life. Further, she supported several animal shelters' work rescuing animals at risk.
Beyond being loved by her canine companions, Susan was a generous and devoted friend, mother, sister, and daughter, who always placed the needs of others above her own. A supportive listener who knew how to give wise and thoughtful counsel in times of need, she had an endlessly bright spirit who drew in everyone she met, and the world will be darker without her bright light.
Private services are being conducted under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs 584-5373.
Memorial gifts in Susan's name may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue of Puerto Rico, HC-01 Box 3547, Villalba, PR 00766.
