In Loving Memory of Susan Thalia MacDougall

December 24, 1943-January 15, 2025

Albany, NY - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Thalia MacDougall.  A beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Susan passed peacefully on January 15th surrounded by loved ones in Albany, NY.

Susan was born on December 24, 1943 in Yonkers, NY to William and Jeanette MacDougall, and resided there until she moved to Rochester, NY, where she spent her adult life.

During her time in Rochester, Susan spent countless hours volunteering for Flower City Kids, organizing the annual spring planting day. Susan was also a lifelong advocate for animal welfare and found her true calling in rescuing dogs and training them as therapy animals. Through her dedication, countless rescue dogs became trusted companions through her project K9s for Kids.

Susan is survived by her son David, (Andrea) and grandchildren Emily, Matthew and Meghan.  She is also survived by her dear sister Maureen and brother Brian (Linda).

Per Susan's wishes, there will be a humble Green Burial service at Whitehaven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford, NY on Saturday, January 18th at 1pm.

A luncheon will follow at a nearby restaurant for those that wish to join (Bocaccini's Italian Bistro, 6720 Pittsford Palmyra Rd, Fairport, NY 14450).

Remembrances can be made through contributions to Susan's favored animal rescue, Lollypop Farm at lollypop.org.
