Saratoga Springs, NY - Suzanne (Susan) C. Senn went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Susan grew up in Saratoga Springs, living in Houston, Texas for a few years during the 1970's. Her last few months she resided in her son's home in Hudson Falls. Born October 7,1955, she was the daughter of the late James Bly and Rita Parks. She married the late Douglas (Rebel) M. Senn November 23, 1973. Susan graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1974 and attended Saratoga County B.O.C.E.S. where she earned her Associates Degree in Nursing obtaining her LPN in 1986. She worked at Wesley Health Care Center prior to her diagnosis in 2005. Other various places of employment through the years were at Saratoga A.R.C., Saratoga Hospital, The Snack Bar, The S&M Market, and Montgomery Wards. Susan worked two jobs most of her adult life to care for her two children. She loved her nursing career and dedicated her life to helping the elderly. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Susan's hobbies included, decorating, arts and crafts, and her memory flower garden. A former member of Saratoga Bible Baptist Church for many years she was a Sunday School teacher and involved in the Christian school were her children attended. Susan was diagnosed with breast cancer that had metastasized into bone cancer in May 2005. She fought a long, hard, courageous battle. Survivors include one sister, Donna Parks and one brother, Dale Parks, both of Saratoga Springs; her daughter, Michelle Senn-Allen and her husband Chris Allen of St.Petersburg, Florida; her son, James Senn of Hudson Falls; former daughter-in-law, Crystal Senn of Walnut Cove, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Shawn Ingoldsby Jr., of Southborough, MA, Janessa Allen, of St.Petersburg, FL, Jasmin, Alexa, Tyler, and Bladen Senn all of Hudson Falls; three step-children, Samantha Lisa Senn, of Virginia, Timothy Senn, and Michael Senn of Barco, NC and nine step-grandchildren. Susan is predeceased by her husband Douglas Senn, both her parents, a son-in-law, Shawn Ingoldsby Sr. and a grandaughter Brooke Ingoldsby. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 6pm Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Funeral services will follow at 6pm at the funeral home.
