IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Terry M.
Lemere
August 11, 1935 – December 22, 2022
Saratoga Springs, NY- Terry M. LeMere of Saratoga Springs finished 87 years of an amazing life here on Earth on December 22, 2022, surrounded by his beautiful wife and seven children. Terry wanted all his children to be with him before he said, "I'm ready to go." He left this world with a beautiful, calming, and graceful smile. He had his wit and sense of humor, that we all know and love, right until the very end.
He was the son of the late Emery and Elizabeth (Simcox) LeMere and his stepfather Raymond "Kozy" Kaczmarek and was also predeceased by his brothers Edward and Duke LeMere. He is survived by the love of his life Suzanne Ruth Corning who he met at the High Rock Bowling Alley in Saratoga Springs over 50 years ago. He is also survived by his seven children, Duane LeMere (Jen), Douglas LeMere (Kimberly), Donna Baltezore, Timothy LeMere, Teri Crowe (Brian), Thomas LeMere, Trisha Phillips (Brian); his 16 grandchildren, his 13 great-grandchildren, and many lifelong students and friends.
Terry attended high school in Lackawanna, NY; served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed at Fort Dix, NJ, Argentia, Newfoundland and later maintained marine diesel engines on the St. Lawrence Seaway. Terry lived his life working/restoring on cars as a mechanic, starting at a young age in his father's garage called "Kozy's Service" in Buffalo, NY. This skillset turned into a lifelong and influential career as an auto mechanics teacher at Saratoga Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) for over 35 years.
Terry loved camping, boating, traveling the United States and sports. He especially loved watching baseball - coaching his children and often came to watch his grandchildren play. He was a volunteer firefighter and later, as an amazing volunteer with the American Red Cross where he served during the challenging times of September 11, 2001 and operated an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) on many natural disasters, nationwide.
His loving best friend Suzanne was by his side at his passing. He reminisced about his career, his love of cars (Ford Model A's), his camp on Sacandaga Lake, and his list of lifelong friends and students. To the very end, he was so detailed and meticulous in his plan. He waited for everyone to come and say their last goodbyes and share their memories and stories-he would even listen and "chime in" when necessary. He knew we all needed the closure and to express our gratitude and love before he left us.
Known as the man of the great "one liner"-he will be greatly missed though his memory will continue in all of us… "Thanks for Calling!"-
