Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY – Terry R. Waldron, 84, of Maple Ave., former longtime native of Mechanicville, died Monday, September 5th, at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness.

Born March 23, 1938, on Ensign Ave. in Mechanicville, N.Y., the 6th child of Hawley and Caroline Sipperly Waldron, and a 1955 graduate of Mechanicville High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-58 stationed in Germany. Following his service, Terry worked at Mohawk Paper, enabling him to graduate from Troy Beauty School of Cosmetology. He was the sole proprietor of Mr. Terry's Beauty Salon for over 45 years.

Terry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Always a strong supporter of his children's interest. His generosity extended to his siblings, in-laws and their families and to countless neighbors, clients and friends. Terry opened his home to everyone with his smile and a warm embrace. Many special friends became part of our family.

He was a marvelous cook and no one ever left a Waldron gathering hungry.

Terry's signature in life was his warm loving service to others. From a very young age he realized it is truly in giving that we receive. His special wit and humor, delivered through voice and facial expression, is unforgettable!

He enjoyed hosting various occasions, big and small, but especially the holidays! His favorite was Christmas, with multiple trees decorated, singing his favorite carols and his amazing Christmas dinner! Thanksgiving was a close second as it was all about family. Holidays at the Waldron's were special and if it was learned that someone was alone, they were invited to join Terry and his family. Terry also appreciated history and had a large collection of antiques.

He was a communicant of The Church of St. Peter where he was a member of the choir, expressing his passion for the gift of song.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Katherine; his children, Jeffery (Gerard), John (Mary), Suzanne (Brian), James (Kristen), Joseph (Sarah); grandchildren, Sebastian, Tanner, Nicholas, Carrie, Shauna, Mark, great-granddaughter Mila, siblings, Elzora (Albert) Conway, and Earl (Heidi), sisters-in-law Carol and Jeanne,  brothers-in-law Thomas, Paul and David, many nieces and nephews, Goddaughter Rachel, his other 'son' Patrick (Kristin) and his other 'grandchildren' Christopher, Nicholas and Patrick.

Terry was preceded in death by brothers Hawley (Betty), David (Rita), Frank (Nancy), Ray, Thomas (Patricia), Richard, and sister, Carolyn (Louis) Herman and sister-in-law JaneAnne (Giles).

Special thank you for the care given by his longtime physicians and the outstanding healthcare staff at Saratoga Hospital.
