Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY - The Honorable Frank B. Williams, 73, died Thursday (Jan. 3, 2019).

Born on Oct. 8, 1945, in Saratoga Springs, he was a son of the late Frank P. and Mary (Snyder) Williams and was a lifelong city resident. A graduate of St. Peter's Academy, he earned a full academic scholarship to the University of Notre Dame in 1963. He graduated from Albany Law School in 1971 and served in the New York State National Guard. Frank conducted a private law practice and served as Assistant District Attorney for Saratoga County. He then served as Saratoga County Court Judge from 1985-1993 and later as New York State Supreme Court Justice (Fourth Judicial District, Third Department) from 1993-2010. After retirement, he returned to private practice in the firm of Towne, Ryan & Partners.

A former member of the Knights of Columbus, he was Past President and member of the Board of Governors of the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick for over twenty years, Saratoga-Wilton B.P.O. Elks Lodge 161, Saratoga Springs Lions Club, the NYS and Saratoga County Bar Associations and other local organizations. A lifelong fan of the Fightin' Irish, Frank loved Notre Dame football and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife Sharon; his son Brady and his daughter Christin; one brother, Joseph (Janet) Williams of Saratoga Springs; two sisters, Margaret (John) Irving of Saratoga Springs and Mary (Dennis) Eisenhauer of Hamburg, NY; and nine nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call between the hours of 4 to 7 p.m., Monday (Jan. 7, 2019) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (518-584-5373).

Judges are requested to gather at 3:45pm Monday at the Burke Funeral Home, followed by members of the bar association, to attend the wake.

A Liturgy of the Word will be at 11am, Tuesday in the historic Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway and interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations may be made in his name to the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
