IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Theresa Ann
Bartoszek
May 24, 1959 – March 23, 2025
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Theresa Ann Bartoszek, 65, passed away March 23, 2025, after a 25-year battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Born in Waco, Texas, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha (Garcia) Bartoszek.
As the daughter of a US Air Force officer, Theresa and family came to Plattsburgh Air Force Base in 1964. She graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1978.
She worked in the Facilities department at SUNY Plattsburgh until she was hurt on the job in 1999. A short time later she was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease which was relatively uncommon at that time for someone of such a young age. In 2009, Theresa came to Ballston Lake to live with her sister Monica, who cared for her until she moved to Home of the Good Shepherd Memory Care in 2023.
Theresa loved art. Before her illness took over, she painted, sketched, crocheted and made jewelry. She loved to swim at the family cabin in the Adirondacks and she made the best macaroni salad. Theresa was the queen of cards in the family with Gin Rummy and Slapjack as her favorites. She had been a member of the Clifton Park Senior Center, and in her younger years she could be found in aerobics classes at The Bay Club in Plattsburgh.
She is survived by her siblings, Monica Bartoszek of Ballston Lake, Angela (David) Street of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jack (Sindye) Bartoszek of Saratoga Springs, and Barbara (Dwight) Booth of Newburyport, MA. She is also survived by nephews, Joseph Bartoszek, James Bartoszek, and Timothy Jerome; nieces, Amanda Bartoszek and Jennifer Street; as well as her aunt, Letty Bartoszek of Pelham, NY, and many cousins. She also leaves behind her faithful canine companion, Teddy.
Given the recent passing of her father, Theresa will be honored alongside him during a funeral Mass already scheduled for 11 a.m. on March 28, 2025, at The Church of Saint Peter in Saratoga Springs. Following the service, she will be inurned with her parents at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Home of The Good Shepherd Memory Care and Saratoga Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Theresa's name to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research .
