Saratoga Springs, NY - Theresa Marie Morrone was called to her heavenly home by her Savior, on Thursday, October 27, 2011 after a short illness. She was 84. Born on May 24, 1927 in Saratoga Springs, NY, she was the youngest of seven children of Giovanni and Mariann (Visconti) Colangelo. She married Mario Morrone in 1947, being his faithful partner until his death in 1991 and was the loving mother of four sons. Theresas career in retail included clerking at Macys at Herald Square, Jamesway, at the time it first opened and Denbys Department Store. An avid walker, she was a hard woman to keep up with! In addition to her husband, Theresa is predeceased by her parents and all six brothers and sisters: Anthony, James, Louis, Louise, Rose and Madeline. She also lost her son, John in 2006. Survivors include her sons, Joseph Morrone, James Morrone, daughter in law Margaret (Costello) Morrone and Neil Morrone, all of Saratoga Springs; her grandchildren: Jason Morrone, Orlando, Florida, Joshua Morrone, Coral Springs, Florida and Sarah Morrone, New York City; her nephews: Anthony Colangelo, Saratoga Springs, Anthony Morrone, South Daytona, Florida and Alex Morrone, Lexington, North Carolina; her nieces: Rosemarie Hildebrandt, Saratoga Springs and Lisa DiSario, South Daytona, Florida and her in-laws, Anthony and Gina Morrone, South Daytona, Florida. Theresa was blessed to have many special girlfriends throughout her life. Her fulfilling joy was cooking and it showed in the love she put into the delicious Italian food she made for her family and friends. Always willing to share her recipes and give cooking lessons, her grandchildren have wonderfully carried on her culinary traditions in their own kitchens. Naturally, she will be missed; but as you enjoy a fabulous Italian dish, think of Theresa! There will be no calling hours. A funeral service for family and friends will be conducted at 11am Monday (Oct. 31, 2011) at the William J. Burke& Sons/Bussing& Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, by the Reverend Neil Draves-Arpaia. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery on West Avenue.
