Saratoga Springs, NY – It is with much sadness to announce that Thomas Strock Beattie passed away on the evening of June 4, 2022 at home. He was 71 years young. Thomas was born August 17, 1950 in New York City, in the borough of Manhattan at Lenox Hill Hospital.

Thomas came to Saratoga Bridges from the Wilton Developmental Center in March 1995. His first home was on Ruggles Road. He spent his later years at his Lemont home. Thomas attended Wilton Day Program for 37 years.

He enjoyed many sensory experiences through his life. He loved his music therapy with Ashley; this was apparent through his movement to the rhythm and beat. Elton John, Elvis and Chris Stapleton were some of his favorites. He liked swimming at Camp Wilton, his teddy bears, soft vibrating things, massages and of course his fuzzy peach.

The staff at Ruggles Road, Lemont Ave. and Wilton Day Program should be proud of the care and encouragement they provided Thomas over the years.

His smile and his rhythmic movement will truly be missed.

A funeral home service will be held at 10:00am, on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (518-584-5373).

Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave.
