Saratoga Springs, NY - Thomas C. Ellis passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 62. Thomas was born October 1, 1946 in Carthage, NY, son of the late Regina and Carroll Ellis. He graduated from Massena High School in 1965. A veteran of the U.S. Air Forces, Thomas served during Vietnam. He and his beloved wife of 37 years, Hazel (Cook), first lived in Syracuse, NY and then made their home in Wilton, NY. Thomas was the owner of Ellis Insurance Agency for 17 years. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed attending his childrens hockey games, as well as golfing and hunting with friends and family. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Judith Ann Horr. Along with his wife Hazel, Thomas is survived by his devoted children, Carrie, Tom Jr. and Judith Ellis, twin brother Tim and his wife Judy Ellis, brother Jack and his wife Lois Ellis, and his sister Sherry Ash. He is also survived by many other family members and friends. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon on Monday, March 2, 2009 by Rev. Richard Hoffman at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Burial with military honors will follow at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
